AuDHD self-assessment tool information
This AuDHD self-assessment tool was created as a reflective, neurodivergent-informed framework designed to support self-understanding while people are waiting for, preparing for, or complementing a formal clinical assessment.
It is not intended to replace diagnosis or clinical evaluation. Instead, it functions as a structured insight tool that helps individuals identify patterns across key domains such as executive function, sensory processing, emotional regulation, energy patterns, coping strategies, and nervous system responses.
Many people — especially neurodivergent adults and parents — struggle to articulate their internal experience in clinical or professional settings. This tool helps bridge that gap by translating lived, subjective experience into observable and communicable domains. It acts as a translation layer between personal experience and professional language.
The scoring system does not represent performance, intelligence, or capability. Instead, scores reflect the intensity, frequency, and impact of different traits and experiences. Higher scores indicate stronger patterns or greater relevance in that domain for the individual. The purpose of scoring is pattern recognition, not categorisation or judgement.
Results are designed to support reflection, journaling, coaching, therapeutic conversations, and communication with healthcare professionals. They can also help individuals begin to develop personalised tools, routines, and strategies while awaiting formal assessment.
This assessment was developed through a combination of lived experience, professional expertise, and applied neurodivergent research. The creator is a trained Christian counsellor, qualified careers adviser with over a decade of experience working with young people, families, and neurodivergent needs, as well as a professional creative, educator, and coach. The framework draws on years of direct work supporting emotional regulation, executive functioning challenges, identity development, and nervous system awareness.
This assessment is for:
-
Adults exploring AuDHD traits
-
Parents supporting neurodivergent children
-
Creatives, entrepreneurs, and sensitive nervous systems
-
Anyone waiting for assessment or seeking deeper self-understanding
Important note
This tool is not a medical diagnosis. It is a reflective self-assessment designed to support insight, self-awareness, and communication with professionals.
After completing the assessment, users are encouraged to reflect on their patterns, use the results for personal development, and share insights with therapists, coaches, GPs, or specialists if desired.
This is a living framework designed to evolve alongside learning, experience, and self-discovery.
